Sanquin Bloedvoorziening (Stichting Sanquin) intends to purchase new X-ray irradiators through a European procurement procedure to replace the current gamma irradiators in seven departmental rooms. The devices are intended to irradiate blood products to prevent transfusion-related graft versus host disease. The procedure is public, focused on supplies, without a CPV code. The new systems must comply with strict safety and quality standards, including radiation protection, reliability, maintenance requirements, and compatibility with existing logistical processes. Additionally, the supplier must demonstrate that the equipment complies with EU regulations for medical devices and radiation equipment, and that there is a plan for training, certification, and aftercare. The tender requires a detailed technical proposal, an implementation plan, and a cost budget, including maintenance and potential upgrades.

Sanquin Blood Supply Foundation, hereinafter referred to as 'Sanquin', has decided to organise a European procurement procedure for the supply of new X-Ray (blood) irradiators. To prevent transfusion-associated Graft versus Host Disease, blood products are irradiated with a radioactive source. Sanquin's issuing departments irradiate the blood products on request of the hospital. Sanquin currently has an irradiation device at seven (7) issuing departments. All these devices make use of gamma irradiation. Sanquin wishes to switch to new X-Ray irradiators.
