01What is being requested

During a market consultation, the Utrecht Youth Region proposed the strategic concept 'Essential Functions' with the aim of preventing children from being 'co-active from the moment of intake' and, in cases of necessary residential stay, returning to a family-oriented, outpatient trajectory.

Earlier this year, together with partners in the Utrecht collaborative youth regions, we developed the Course transformation Essential Functions. Based on this, we—together with the social basis, primary care, Samen Veilig Midden-Nederland, and care providers—are taking a further step to realize our ambition. Namely: to prevent residential stay as much as possible. And where residential stay is nonetheless the most appropriate solution, to ensure that it is family-oriented and part of an outpatient trajectory.
