01What is being requested

Replacement of ferrous-detection equipment (magnetometer) for the EODD for the purpose of detecting UXOs. The system must be able to detect ferrous metals to a depth of at least 4 metres below the ground surface, be GPS-supported, and be able to exchange data with computer-assisted detection equipment.

The EODD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department) conducts ground investigations for UXO’s (Unexploded Ordnance) both within the Netherlands and during expeditionary operations. The EODD is responsible for supporting the Armed Forces. The EODD is a joint unit with the Army acting as the Single Service Manager (SSM). The EODD, as a unit, is involved in supporting all types of operations. In these operations there is often a need to locate UXO’s.
