01What is being requested

Conducting a study into the electrical fire safety on livestock farms by means of pilot inspections and analysis of existing reports. The assignment comprises two phases in which a total of 100 inspection reports (50 Scope-10 and 50 Scope-10&12) are collected and analyzed over a period of a maximum of 6 months.

Unfortunately, barn fires frequently occur on livestock farms, resulting in many animal deaths annually. On 18 December 2024, the Minister of LVVN informed the House regarding the approach to barn fires. Part of this is a feasible and proportionate electrical and solar power installation inspection (SCIOS scope 10 and 12) on livestock farms. The Minister has announced that a number of SCIOS pilot inspections will be carried out with livestock farmers in various sectors to measure the effects of a mandatory inspection in practice.
