Stichting Het Utrechts Landschap aims to strengthen the Amerongse Bovenpolder nature reserve by improving the use of seepage (emerging groundwater) and developing marshes with sedge and reed plants. Following a nature value assessment in 2019, opportunities were identified to better utilize the unique characteristics of the area. The assignment includes enlarging and improving the existing seepage channel, excavating a seepage marsh, and deepening an existing water body to enable reed development. These measures will make the existing nature stronger and more resilient to the harmful influence of nitrogen.
