For the production of drinking water, Vitens uses bulk gases, particularly oxygen (O₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), at various production locations. These gases are used as an essential part of the purification process and are therefore business-critical. It is currently the case that the supply of bulk gases is carried out via a contract in which gas supply, tank infrastructure, and maintenance of the installations are integrated with a single supplier.
