Research into the monitoring techniques and required data for understanding the behaviour of large salt domes after closure in the Northern Netherlands. The assignment has a duration of 6 months with an option for a 3-month extension.
The objective of this research is to identify and evaluate monitoring techniques suitable for assessing the integrity and behaviour of large salt caverns during and after abandonment. The selected monitoring techniques must generate data suitable for calibrating and validating numerical models used for predicting the long-term behaviour of caverns.
