Kadaster is requesting a service provider to digitally reconstruct the current cadastral map. The objective is to improve the accuracy of boundaries by fully recalculating the geometry using all available survey data. A large portion of this data is contained in scanned documents, while more recent projects provide structured survey data that is accurately linked to the coordinate system. The final product must deliver a map with boundaries that have less uncertainty – from approximately 40–50 cm to 10–15 cm – and the remaining margin of uncertainty must be explicitly stated for every boundary. The assignment is a non-public procedure for services, aimed at a high-quality technical result that further improves the quality of the cadastral map. The contracting authority expects an integrated approach that combines both image processing and GIS analysis, with an emphasis on data integrity, accuracy, and traceability.

The contracting authority expects an integrated approach that combines both image processing and GIS analysis, with an emphasis on data integrity, accuracy, and traceability.

The objective of the production process is the improvement of the current cadastral map, whereby the representation of the location of the boundaries is renewed. The way to achieve this is by fully recalculating the geometry of the map using all available survey data, a large part of which is stored in the scanned images of documents. In addition, structured survey data from more recent projects will be included, which are related to the coordinate system of the map with high accuracy. The final result is a more accurately positioned and represented cadastral boundary with a decreasing margin

08Frequently asked questions

What is the objective of the assignment for the digital reconstruction of the cadastral map?
The objective is the improvement of the current cadastral map by renewing the representation of the location of the boundaries. This is achieved by fully recalculating the geometry of the map using all available survey data, including data from scanned documents and structured survey data from recent projects.
What is the intended improvement in the accuracy of the cadastral boundaries?
The final result is a more accurately positioned and represented cadastral boundary where the margin of uncertainty is reduced from approximately 40-50 cm to 10-15 cm.
What information must be available per boundary on the cadastral map after processing?
After the processing, it must be known for every boundary on the cadastral map what its accuracy is, i.e., which margin of uncertainty remains.
