Buffer restoration in nitrogen-poor forests
This project concerns research into buffer restoration in nitrogen-poor forests under the OBN program. Bidders must guarantee that there is no Russian involvement and can independently propose methodologies and risk matrices.

01What is being requested
Execution of research into buffer restoration in nitrogen-poor forests within the framework of the Programma Ontwikkeling en Beheer Natuurkwaliteit (OBN). The costs for restoration measures are part of the research.
The research aligns with two of the six focal points from the ecological assessment. 1) Reducing input of nutrients, including nitrogen, chemical substances, and restoration of incurred damage. The buffering leads to better nitrogen runoff and less acid damage. 2) Restoration of biotic quality. The research focuses on the existing biodiversity hotspots in the acidified and eutrophicated forests.
02Strategic insight
Thoroughly substantiate your own proposed method to increase the quality of the response. Take the research budgets into account by explicitly including restoration measures. Adding an own risk matrix may be a strategic choice for the bid.
