Every municipality in the Netherlands has the task of housing Ukrainian refugees, as does the Municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn. Currently, refugees are housed, among other places, at the Kees Mustersstraat in Alphen aan den Rijn. Due to a redevelopment at this location (Nieuwe sloot), this location will become unavailable in the short term. Locations have since been found to rehouse the refugees concerned. One of the locations is at the Haringvliet (next to the secondary school Ashram college) in Alphen aan den Rijn. The existing units at the Kees Mustersstraat are owned by the Municipality
