01What is being requested
Purchase of two complete self-sufficient vacuum installations in a 20ft container design. The installations are intended for suction of liquids such as fuels, water and oil waste streams from naval vessels and must be mobile and modular deployable with a technical lifespan of at least 15 years.
Within the Royal Navy, the transport department carries out various activities on the naval terrain in Den Helder. This includes various cleaning activities using vacuum technology for the maintenance of the fleet. Currently, the fleet consists of a number of vacuum trucks and a number of separate vacuum units. This results in the existing suction units needing to be replaced by two complete self-sufficient vacuum installations with proper certification. The new
02Strategic insight
Ensure a full technical substantiation of the ADR and SIR compliance, as this is essential for deployment with waste streams. Verify that the 20ft container construction meets the requirements for transport (twistlocks) and lifting capacity in both empty and filled states. Anticipate the strict documentation requirements for the Technical Construction File and the maintenance regime (including OEM numbers and risk of obsolescence).
